We have always enjoyed staying in a variety of Bed & Breakfast Inns. It was only natural, after we retired, that we open our own B&B. After our five children left the nest, we retired from our 8-5’s and began searching for the perfect location.

Five years of planning for the perfect B&B resulted in the creation of American Country Bed and Breakfast! We found the perfect spot in Coeur d'Alene in 2004 and purchased five acres of meadow property to build a structure that we designed from the ground up to be an elegant country setting for the discriminating traveler. We opened our doors for lodging on January 1st of 2006. The acreage and the lovely B&B provide Shar, a former elementary teacher and librarian, with ample opportunity to enjoy her News icon for Accolades page on American Country Bed and Breakfastpassions for entertaining, reading, antiquing, gardening, decorating and cooking. It also gives Brian, who spent his previous life in construction and the home inspection business, space for his many building projects, (Tree-House Terrace; Gazebo & Barn) and time for his passions for cooking, wine tasting with our "Swill Seekers" wine club, camping, and surf fishing.

Of course, we have collected antiques forever, and the B&B provides a wonderful display of our extensive antique collections centered around an Early Americana and Country Store theme. We always enjoy sharing with our guests the many stories that accompany collecting such unique treasures. We also enjoy the active roles we have as "President" and "Grant Manager" for the Idaho B&B Association. When you come for a visit to Idaho and the Great Inland Northwest, come and see us!
